Coming Into the Hospital

Whilst visiting the hospital every effort is made to ensure you are as comfortable as possible. There are a variety of ways you can access our services across our facilities and we have outlined the main types of visit below with information to help you throughout your time with us.

 

Outpatient Appointments, Tests or Scans

  • An outpatient is a term used to describe a patient who is visiting a hospital or medical facility for a consultation, a diagnostic scan, tests or treatment and is not required to stay longer than approximately 4 hours.
  • At the time of making your appointment you will be advised of the date, time and location of where your consultation will take place, and any specific preparations or instructions that you may need to follow prior to the consultation (such as fasting).

Daycase and Inpatient Stays

  • Our rooms come with en suite facilities, a nurse call system, television. We will also provide you with all the conveniences you would expect, including fresh linen, bath and hand towels?
  • A daycase stay is a term used to describe a patient who is visiting a hospital or medical facility for a short term stay, this stay will not usually exceed 8 hours.
  • A inpatient stay is a term used to describe a patient who is visiting a hospital or medical facility for a long term stay, this stay will usually exceed 8 hours and requires overnight stay.
  • Your admission date, time and location will be confirmed either by telephone or a written letter. At this time you will be advised of any specific preparations or instructions that you may need to follow prior to the admission (such as fasting).
  • When you arrive for your admission you will need to confirm your personal details with the registration team who register you for your appointment.

  • If you are paying your own account you will need to be prepared to settle your consultation fee on the day.

Our team of consultants and medical professionals are capable of dealing with a wide range of complex medical and surgical problems, whether you may be admitted as an emergency, or with multiple disorders, referred for investigation and diagnosis, or referred by other specialist services.
